The different payments methods available are:
- Payment guarantee
- Bypass credit card capture
- Travel Curious as merchant of record
Payment guarantee
This feature allows us to tokenize credit cards during the booking process, all without triggering any charges. This empowers you to handle payment collection directly in house or by adding the booking to the guest folio and collect payment during check-out or activity check-ins. Importantly, you can rest assured that you are guaranteed payment, whether it's in the case of a no-show or for any other necessary payments as we can trigger a payment if needed.
To configure this setting, un-select the auto payment processor under payment settings on your product configuration and save changes.
If you need to charge the card for any reason, you can find the booking on the platform and click on details.
Once you are viewing the full details, you will have the option to Process payment now and then Continue on the next step.
Note: If the payment fails, a payment link will be emailed to the guest and request that payment be completed.
Bypass credit card capture
This option allows you to bypass the credit card capture process during check-out. In this scenario, you would manually handle the payment.
Please note that in this case, there won't be an available payment processing option for no-show situations. Nevertheless, you do have the capability to send a payment link through the Travel Curious platform for added flexibility.
To configure this setting, un-select the capture card details under payment settings on your product configuration and save.
If you need to charge the guest, you have the option to send a payment link from the Travel Curious platform. If you find the relevant booking and select details, you will be presented with all the booking details. At the bottom of the page, you will have the option to send a payment request using the send payment request to customer option.
When you select this, you will have the option to select why you are requesting payment and you can include a payment deadline. If payment is not received by that date, the booking will be canceled.
Travel Curious as the payment merchant of record
With this setting, Travel Curious will handle the payment. We will charge the card that was used during the booking process once the reservation enters the non-refundable phase. We will send you a statement at the beginning of each month and request an invoice is raised and we will wire the owed amount to your nominated bank account.
To configure this setting, ensure that both Capture card detail and auto payment process are both selected within the product settings.
